On World Teachers’ Day today, Ashesi students celebrate their favourite interactions with teachers and the moments that have left a lasting impression.

To Michael Osei

“Michael Osei is a faulty Intern that I can’t even thank enough. Knowing I have exam anxiety, Michael takes time to talk me through my anxieties before every exam and provides practical ways to overcome them. It always calms me, and I feel good knowing he believes in me and my ability to ace all my papers. I’m grateful for this gesture.” — From Elorm Peggy Ameyibor, ‘26

To Stephane Nwolley

“Stephane Nwolley’s ability to make an abstract course such as Database and make it exciting and relatable is something I’ll always admire. His teaching methods use fundamental everyday life experiences to explain somewhat complex ideas. I want to thank him for making me not dread Database and looking forward to learning it.”- From Angela Benning, ‘25

To Dr. Ayawao Dagbovie

“I took a summer class and had Dr. Ayawa teach me Linear Algebra. She was willing to take lessons repeatedly if a student wasn’t getting it, and we still finished the course on time. I appreciate her keenness to get all her students to understand the concepts she teaches.” — From Kwamena Duker ‘25

To Kwabena Bamfo

“One time, when I needed clarifications of some school stuff and went to Dr. Bamfo, he was open and ready to help me. Since then, I have noticed how he takes an interest in his students, even outside his class. He took my class on a field trip to the Google Ghana office, and it was some of the best times I’ve had as a student.” — From Esther Gasu ‘25

“If there’s one thing I appreciate about Dr. Bamfo, it’s how structured his classes are. His course outline is uncomplicated and makes learning easy. Once, he made us play a game to help us understand binary to decimal numbers, and I thought that was so cool.” — From Joshua Kortey ‘26

To Natalie Fordwor

“Natalie is one of the most patient teachers in my life right now. She creates a safe environment for her students to share ideas and openly engage in discussions, which I love. It has made me more expressive and not afraid to speak up.” —From Anobea Konadu Taylor, ‘26

“Natalie’s classes are super conversational and allow various student interactions. She’s teaching me text and meanings this semester. I can confidently say it’s one of my favourite classes, and I look forward to it every time.” — From Rachel Nhyira Anane-Frimpong ‘26

To Dr. Justice Appati

“Dr. Appati is very approachable and encourages his students to contact him outside class. He’s one of the few lecturers I know who makes it a goal to have no student fail his class. It makes me confident to learn from him, knowing he’s always looking out.” — From Talia Noulengbe ‘25
