Meet members of Ashesi’s graduating class of 2023 as they reflect on their time at Ashesi and their dreams for the future.

At Ashesi, Elsie Harriet Maakoryo Aminarh, a Business Administration major, developed a more profound sense of community and a desire to help others.

While on campus, She was the Off-Campus committee chairperson- a liaison between students and the administration. She also started Flaunt Feminine, a programme that teaches young girls in rural areas about menstrual health and hygiene.

"I am determined to educate rural communities about the importance of menstrual health and hygiene," Elsie shared. "My goal is to help foster open discussions about menstruation and help eradicate the stigma that comes with it."

Learning about the importance of servant leadership in her Leadership 4 class, Elsie always sought opportunities to serve her community. During her mid-semester breaks, she volunteered as an English teacher at a primary school in Odumase Krobo, her hometown.

After Ashesi, Elsie plans to explore her passion for Human Resources and gain experience before attending law school.

"My advice to students is to make friends and surround yourself with people who want to see you succeed and are willing to help you do better," Elsie shared. "School doesn’t get easier, but a solid support system makes it bearable."
